Tourism to Israel continues to rise

March 2010 saw the most tourists to Israel than any previous month in Israel's history. Over 313,000 people visited the Jewish state last month, according to numbers published by Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday.

That is 56 percent more visitors than in March 2009.

The total number of tourists to Israel in the first three months of this year stands at nearly 750,000.

The tourism industry nearly collapsed with the outbreak of the latest Palestinian terrorist uprising in 2000, but has rebounded in a major way.
