A new poll shows that a plurality of Americans are unhappy about the way US President Barack Obama is handling the Israeli-Arab conflict and US-Israel relations.

Conducted by Quinnipiac University, the survey found that 44 percent of Americans disapprove of Obama's approach to Israel and the Middle East conflict, while 35 percent say he is doing fine.

The question regarding Israel was the only foreign policy question on which Obama received negative marks. A follow-up question showed that a mere three percent of Americans see Obama as a true supporter of Israel.

A slim majority of respondents approved of Obama's handling of Afghanistan, Iran and global terrorism.
