Israel continues to face regular terror attempts

Israel appears to be enjoying a long respite from Palestinian terrorism. But an Israel National News report highlighted that the absence of violence is not for lack of trying, but is rather due to vigorous efforts on the part of the IDF.

For instance, on Tuesday evening, Israeli forces arrested no fewer than 11 Palestinian Arabs in Judea and Samaria who were planning terrorist attacks or had been involved in recent acts of violence.

The army also issued a firm warning to Jewish residents living in the areas just north of Jerusalem that local Palestinians were trying to abduct Israeli civilians. Armed with that warning, local Jews have been extra cautious when hitchhiking or even getting into their own cars.

INN noted in its report that the numbers strengthen the notion that terrorism can only be effectively held at bay where the IDF is present, and that relying on the Palestinian Authority to curtail violence is a no-win prospect.
