A Jerusalem Arab man is seeking to sell his house in the capital's Shuafat neighborhood to none other than Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
Attorney Mueen Khouri told Israel's Maariv newspaper that the house, which he bought several years ago, originally belonged to the bin Laden family.
According to Khouri, Osama's father built the structure in the 1960s, when the eastern half of Jerusalem was still occupied illegally by Jordan. The entire bin Laden family, including Osama, are said to have spent time at the house during that time.
When Israel reunited the city during the 1967 Six Day War, the elder bin Laden abandoned the house. It was later used to house the Spanish consulate.
Khouri said bin Laden has a right to reclaim what once belonged to his family. He also insists that bin Laden has been wrongly condemned and demonized by the Western world.
