Abbas expects formal truce declaration from terror groups

Thursday, March 10, 2005 |

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas believes that terror groups will agree to a formal cease-fire at talks in Egypt next Tuesday. So far, Hamas and Islamic Jihad have only agreed to an informal “period of calm.” "I expect this meeting in Cairo will conclude all the [cease-fire] efforts that have been made by the Egyptian brothers," Abbas told reporters in Gaza City. "Allah willing we could have a declaration."
