Doves want quicker action on outposts

Sunday, March 13, 2005 |

Cabinet Ministers of the dovish Labor Party accused the government of moving too slowly on the outposts and said the sooner they are dismantled the better. "I don't understand why a committee has to be set up,” said Labor’s Dalia Itzik. “These outposts are illegal." Labor’s ally, the far-left wing Peace Now movement, was even more critical. "The government decision to establish a committee...effectively means it has buried the report and thrown it into the dustbin of history," Peace Now said. But the government is no hurry to remove the outposts because it doesn’t want to further infuriate the settlers ahead of the pullout from the Gaza Strip set for July.
