Messianic Israelis, Christian friends gather for Shavuot

Thursday, June 09, 2011 |  Ryan Jones

Hundreds of local believers in Yeshua (Jesus) gathered at the Messianic communal village of Yad Hashmonah on Wednesday for the annual celebration of the biblical holiday of Shavuot (Pentacost).

Yad Hashmonah has been hosting the large Shavuot celebration for years, and it always draws a large number of Messianic Israelis from around the country.

In addition to a wonderful time of fellowship, there is music by worship teams from around Israel, Bible teaching, dance performances and booths where local Messianic publishers and craftsmen can show off their products.

The Yad Hashmonah gathering is also the perfect venue for the thousands of pro-Israel Christians who reside in Israel (either temporarily or permantently) to get to know local believers. Among the many Israeli believers at the gathering, one will always find nearly as many foreign Christians soaking up the local Messianic scene.
