Glenn Beck sets date for Jerusalem rally

Popular and controversial American TV personality Glenn Beck has set August 24 as the date for his rally "to restore courage" in Jerusalem.

Beck came up with the idea for the rally during his recent surprise visit to Israel to celebrate the 63th anniversary of the rebirth of the Jewish state.

The upcoming rally will be modeled on Beck's rally "to restore honor" that he hosted in Washington, DC last year.

The main event will take place at the Western Wall Plaza in Jerusalem's Old City, but participants will be able to view everything live from massive screens at the Sultan's Pool outide the Old City walls and at Teddy Stadium in the capital's Malha neighborhood.

The Israeli public is being encouraged to attend at any of the three venues. Live music will be performed, there will be a pyrotechnics display and a number of prominent US political figures are expected to make appearances - chief among them presidential hopefuls Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney.
