US lobby group aiding Palestinian state bid

Sunday, July 24, 2011 |  Ryan Jones

Left-wing American-Jewish lobby group J Street is actively aiding the Palestinian Authority in its unilateral statehood bid, according to Palestinian officials who spoke to WorldNetDaily.

The news website reported that Palestinian officials acknowledged that J Street has been helping them set up meeting with certain congressional representatives in an effort to win diplomatic support for their agenda.

The Palestinian Authority this September intends to petition the UN to recognize an independent and sovereign Palestinian state in the absence of a peace agreement with Israel.

US President Barack Obama has threatened to veto the motion in the UN Security Council, and Congress has warned that it will outlaw all funding of a Palestinian state established in that way.

But that isn't stopping J Street and its backers, which according to recent admissions by J Street founder Jeremy Ben-Ami includes radical left-wing money man George Soros.
