Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired a Kassam rocket into southern Israel on Tuesday moderately wounding an Israeli Arab woman.
The victim, a 55-year-old female shepherd, was caught without nearby shelter when local air raid sirens were sounded. She was wounded by shrapnel that hit her lower limbs, and was treated at the scene before being transfered to Barzilai Medical Center in the nearby coastal town of Ashkelon.
The woman is a member of a local Bedouin tribe. Bedouin villages typically do not have shelters capable of withstanding even the primitive Gaza rockets.
Rocket attacks from Gaza have again become a daily occurrence in southern Israel.
