Earlier this year, Israel Today wrote about a specific international boycott of Israeli-made goods that was targeting the barcode number for Israel. But it is important to remember that Israel is under constant economic pressure, and faces an ongoing boycott of its businesses and manufacturers.
To help counter the negative economic impact on Israeli businesses, a number of pro-Israel Jewish organizations have cleverly played off the idea of “Black Friday” by launching “Buy Israel Week.”
Frances Zelazny, a Jewish marketer and the brains behind Buy Israel Week, noted that Israel’s enemies are waging both an information and an economic war against her, while Israel’s supporters far too often focus only on the former. Buying goods from an Israeli business can have a far greater positive impact than “Liking” a story on Facebook, Zelazny explained.
Israel’s enemies know this, and that is why they pour so much into their campaigns to cripple Israel’s economy.
The Buy Israel Week effort is running from November 28 to December 4. All supporters of Israel are encouraged to make as many of their holiday shopping season purchases “Made in Israel” as possible.
The official Buy Israel Week effort is largely focused on the international Jewish community, and unfortunately there is little attention paid to the pro-Israel Christian community at this point. So, Israel Today is joining this effort independently in order to reach as many Christian lovers of Israel as possible with the same message.
We are extending the Black Friday sales at our Jerusalem Depot online store through November 30.
Buy Israel this week and do your part to support the nation of Israel and its people.
