Some Palestinian Arabs need Israel. Some Palestinian Arabs even want Israel. And the number of Palestinians who can be described this way is probably more than you think.
Most of these people will never speak openly to the mainstream media, and there will never be a Palestinian non-governmental organization advocating Israeli rule. To take such a stand publicly would put the lives of these people at risk in a way most would be unwilling to accept. But they are talking, quietly and individually, opening up to Christian and Jewish humanitarian volunteers and average Israelis with whom they have developed friendships.
One such Christian aid worker with Shevet Achim, a ministry that brings Arab children with congenital heart defects to Israel for life-saving treatment, spoke to Israel Today and told us about how both his eyes and the eyes of the Arabs he has personally helped have been opened to just how much Israel loves its "enemies."
In the interview, which will appear in our next issue, the Christian aid worker tells how Israel is actually eager to help ministries like Shevet Achim bring sick children from Gaza for treatment, a sharp contrast to the mainstream media reports that paint Israel as cruelly imprisoning the residents of Gaza. In fact, he says the real problem is the Palestinian Authority, which often makes it difficult for Arabs living under its rule to receive help from Israel.
And our source is not the only one who sees this. He says many of the Arab families who have been helped are now aware of which side in this conflict is most looking out for their well-being.
