Israelis on Tuesday evening began the painful process of remembering the 22,993 soldiers and civilians who have fallen in war and terrorist attacks since the Jewish state's rebirth 64 years ago.
It is always instructive to remember that nearly ever single Israeli knows a soldier who has died, be they friend or family member, making Memorial Day particularly poignant in Israel.
As regional threats once again escalate, it is more important than ever to let those soldiers serving today know that they have the backing of not only their own nation, but supporters around the world.
On this solemn and special day on Israel's calendar, we ask our readers to bless an Israeli soldier.
