Israel is lukewarm about the cease-fire declaration by Hamas, Islamic Jihad and others. "Israel sees the discussions in Cairo as problematic in that they only talk about a temporary time-out,” said government spokesman Mark Regev. “The ‘roadmap’ [peace plan] is unequivocal--[Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud] Abbas must disarm the terrorist groups and we hope that the process of disarmament will start sooner rather than later." (We will have an in-depth analysis of the cease-fire and Abbas’ ability to control the terrorists in next month’s edition of “israel today” magazine.)
