It is not uncommon to see Americans rallying in great numbers in support of Israel. On Tuesday evening, Israelis planned to return the favor by holding a demonstration in support of America outside the US Embassy in Tel Aviv.
Hosted by Im Tirtzu, an organization dedicated to the Zionist restoration of Israel, the rally was called to show solidarity with America following a series of deadly attacks against US diplomatic missions in the Middle East.
In its announcement for the event on Facebook, Im Tirtzu stated:
"We wish to remind our friends in the US that there is only one country in the Middle East that shares the values of freedom and liberty; one country in the Middle East that the US can always count on for support. Israel stands with the American people against those who would like to see the fall of Western values."
Muslim radicals assaulted American embassies in Libya, Egypt and other places following the publication of an American-produced short film that was highly critical of Islam and its founder, Mohammed. A number of Americans, including an ambassador, were killed in the attacks.
