Gaza rockets hit Israel during Obama visit

Thursday, March 21, 2013 |  Israel Today Staff

Palestinian terror groups operating out of the Gaza Strip on Thursday marked US President Barack Obama's second day in Israel by firing four missiles at civilian targets in the southern Negev region.

One of the missiles struck a house in the battered town of Sderot, causing damage but, miraculously, no injuries. Another rocket landed in an open area nearby, and the remaining two failed to clear the Gaza security fence.

There was no immediate military response by Israel.

Thursday morning's incident was only the second attack from Gaza since the conclusion of Operation Pillar of Cloud last November, when Israeli forces pounded terrorist targets in Gaza in response to a serious escalation in cross-border rocket fire.
