Palestinian ex-Muslim hosts Evangelical TV program

The Media Line has a moving and rather telling story of a young Palestinian Arab man who 10 years ago converted from Islam to Christianity and today hosts a popular Evangelical television program.

Hazem Farraj recounted his rather typical Muslim upbringing in a large Palestinian family, most of it spent in eastern Jerusalem.

At age 15, Farraj was growing wary of Islam and attended a church service with Christian neighbors. Of course, he couldn't reveal the name of that church because, even a decade later, it would instantly come under attack from local Muslim extremists.

Farraj said that for "almost three years I was an underground believer." When he finally revealed his faith just before his 18th birthday, Farraj's family severed all ties with him.

This is not a unique account. There are a great number of Arabs in the region who come to faith in Yeshua only to find themselves living under great threat. Many feel forced to hide their faith. Their plight is all but ignored by Christians who would rather spend their time smearing Israel.
