The Arab Summit is underway in Algiers with a Middle East “peace” initiative taking center stage. The proposal offers Israel normal relations with 21 Arab countries, if it withdraws to the 1967 borders. Israeli officials say the offer is a non-starter because peace depends on Israel caving in to maximalist Arab demands. Israel won't withdraw to the 1967 borders because that would mean giving up Jerusalem's Old City, with the sacred Western Wall and Temple Mount. For Israel, the Arab summit is much ado about nothing.
