Rice condemns settlement expansion

While the US is endorsing Israel’s right to keep some settlement blocs, it rejects Israeli plans to build in them! Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has criticized Israel’s plans to build 3,500 new housing units to connect the big settlement bloc of Ma’ale Adumim to Jerusalem. In an interview with the “Los Angeles Times,” Rice said the construction plan is "at odds with American policy" and "not really a satisfactory response." The US-backed “roadmap” peace plan calls for a settlement freeze.
