New jail for settlers

Friday, March 25, 2005 |

Israeli prisons are packed with Palestinian terrorists, but a new jail is being set aside for Jewish settlers and their supporters! The Israeli government is expecting so much trouble if and when it evacuates 21 Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip this summer, that it's built a new jail to house settlers and other protesters. The facility has 900 beds. That may not be enough--the settlers hope to bring tens of thousands of people onto the streets to try to thwart the pullout. Settlement leaders say the new prison adds insult to injury--they say first the government throws Jews out of their homes, and then it throws them in jail.
