4 Israeli soldiers wounded on Lebanon border

Wednesday, August 07, 2013 |  Israel Today Staff

Four Israeli soldiers suffered moderate injuries while on patrol along the Israel-Lebanon border early Wednesday morning.

Current speculation is that the patrol triggered an unmarked landmine. The soldiers all suffered from shrapnel wounds.

Lebanese state media claimed that the Israelis were up to 400 yards inside Lebanon when the explosion occurred. Lebanon does not recognize the UN-demarcated armistice line between the two states, and continues to claim parts of northern Israel as its own.

Israeli army officials said they are investigating the incident, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
