A group of twelve young researchers at Ben Gurion University have asked for support to participate in a prestigious scientific competition.

As one of 220 teams from around the world, these young Israeli researchers will represent Israel, if all goes well, at the finale of the competition on November 1 in Boston.

The competition was started and is hosted by MIT in Boston, and is aimed at promoting synthetic biology and genetic engineering research.

This is the first year an Israeli team will be participating. The following English-language video provides an explanation of why the Israelis want to participate and what they intend to present.
