Terror Tunnel Found From Gaza to Israel

Sunday, October 13, 2013 |  Israel Today Staff

Israeli security forces last week discovered a 1.5-mile tunnel running from the Gaza Strip to a kibbutz in southern Israel, it was reported on Sunday.

The tunnel terminated near the Israeli kibbutz of Ein Hashloshah, not far from the community's kindergarten, and contained a large number of explosive devices.

Israeli army officials said it was clear the tunnel was intended for use in a terrorist attack against Israeli civilians, including children, and was possibly also meant to enable the abduction of more Israelis.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the discovery of the tunnel once again demonstrated that Israel's fight against Palestinian terrorism is far from over, even as Palestinian leaders sit at the negotiating table making demands of the Jewish state.
