Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired another missile into southern Israel on Thursday evening, leading to another night of Israeli Air Force reprisals on Hamas missile sites and observation posts. Also Thursday, Israeli security forces reported the successful capture of 14 Palestinians behind the recent bus bombing near Tel Aviv.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon reiterated that any and every attack from Gaza will elicit a strong response from Israel. “We will respond to those who fire on us, and to those who support them,” said Netanyahu.
Israeli army officials added that “terror groups operating out of Gaza have set out to inflict harm on Israeli citizens. The army will continue to battle all threats to the State of Israel, and views Hamas as bearing direct responsibility for all attacks from Gaza.”
Back to the Tel Aviv bus bombing, police learned during their investigation and manhunt that the attack was planned and executed by Palestinians from Bethlehem. One of those arrested in connection to the bombing was in training to become a Palestinian Authority police officer, which, according to Netanyahu, is “further proof that the Palestinian leadership has direct links to terrorism.”
The terror cell was believed to be planning additional attacks in the Tel Aviv area.
