While the Palestinians have welcomed the Israeli pullout from Gaza, they are worried about Sharon’s declared intention of strengthening and holding on to Jewish settlement blocs in Judea and Samaria. "The international community must make sure that the Gaza disengagement will be the beginning and not the end," said Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat.
