Iran: Einstein was a Muslim!

Thursday, March 13, 2014 |  Israel Today Staff

One of Iran’s leading Muslim clerics has been recorded claiming that Albert Einstein, the world-famous German-Jewish physicist, was actually a Shiite Muslim!

Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani is a member of Iran’s elite “Assembly of Expert,” the same body that selects the next “Supreme Leader” when the current one passes away. Additionally, Mahdavi Kani is also head of the Imam Sadeq University.

According to this scholarly leader, “Einstein wrote something in which he said he had converted to Islam.”

Mahdavi Kani goes on to explain that it was after reading some of the stories surrounding the Prophet Mohammed that Einstein came up with his Theory of Relativity.

This is not the first time an Iranian cleric has claimed Einstein as a Muslim. In 2012, the grandson of the late Ayatollah Hossein Borujerdi claimed that in a direct correspondence with Borujerdi, Einstein had “admitted Shia Islam was the most scientific and just religion in the world.”
