Hundreds of Palestinian Arabs rushed to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount on Tuesday night to celebrate and thank Allah for the Hamas missile attack that struck the city a short time earlier.
Air raid sirens sounded in Jerusalem and other towns across central Israel around 10 PM. At least two projectiles landed just south of the capital, marking a major escalation in the current confrontation that has seen Gaza-based terrorists fire more than 250 missiles into Israel.
The revelers in the video (see below), which was shared on the pro-Hamas Quds News Network, can be heard joyfully celebrating the fact that Jerusalem was under attack.
Israel has responded strongly to the ongoing rocket fire by hitting at least 150 terrorist installations across Gaza. It was reported on Wednesday that the IDF is now specifically targeting the homes of the Hamas leadership.
Dozens of Palestinians have reportedly been killed in the aerial attacks, though Israel is doing its best to minimize collateral damage, and insists that the blood of any innocents killed is on Hamas, since it purposely launches its attacks from the cover of civilian population centers.
For the time being, the Israeli reprisals seem to be eliciting ever more severe Hamas attacks. At least five missiles were fired at Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning, though Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system is believed to have intercepted most, if not all of them.
Hamas says it will halts the attacks only if Israel lifts its blockade of Gaza and releases hundreds of jailed Palestinian terrorists.
Israel is warning that if the rockets do not cease, the IDF will be forced to launched a major ground incursion into Gaza.
In the meantime, upwards of one million Israelis are living under constant bombardment or the threat thereof, and are making sure to keep themselves and their children no more than 15 seconds from the nearest bomb shelter, as that is the average time it takes a missile from Gaza to reach most population centers.
And this fact of life apparently pleases many of Israel’s “peace partners”…
