Hamas Openly Calls for Human Shields in Gaza

Hamas is not even trying to hide the fact that it uses the civilians of Gaza as a human shield as it launches attacks against Israel. In fact, the coastal enclave’s terrorist rulers are openly calling on local residents to do their duty and place themselves in the path of Israeli reprisals.

In an interview with Al-Aqsa TV on Tuesday, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri was asked what he makes of local Gazans “reverting to the human shield method, which has proved effective” in past confrontations.

Abu Zuhri replied: “This attests to the character of our noble, Jihad-fighting people… We in Hamas call upon our people to adopt this policy, in order to protect the Palestinian homes.”

Ignoring this reality entirely, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday accused Israel of “genocide” because a number of Gaza civilians had been killed in Israel’s targeted strikes against Hamas terrorists.

Abbas has always had a penchant for strong exaggeration, and the current conflict is no exception.

It is known that a number of Palestinian civilians have been killed along with dozens of Hamas terrorists in Israel’s retaliatory strikes.

Israel has been going out of its way to minimize collateral damage by sending messages by phone and SMS to each and every residence it targets at least 10 minutes before a strike occurs.

But, given Hamas above stated policy of using human shields, civilian casualties are inevitable, and must be attributed to Hamas alone.

For Abbas, however, it is far easier to sling mud at Israel than actually govern his own people and rein in their violence against the Jewish state.

This is Israel’s “peace partner”…
