The weather in Israel

Sunday, April 03, 2005 |

SHOWERS! The rainy season is drawing to an end with some surprise showers and a few inches of snow on Mt. Hermon on the Golan Heights. Rainfall was below average this season, and the Sea of Galilee only rose by about 1.2 meters (nearly 4 feet). During an average season, the lake should rise by at least 2 meters (6.5 feet). The lake is about 85 cm. (33 inches) below its maximum level, with the long, hot dry season ahead. Highs for today: Jerusalem: 50F (10C); Tel Aviv: 59F (15C); Eilat: 73F (23C).
