One of the many things I love about Israel is that we can still laugh about the crazy and even deadly realities of life in this Land. Being able to see the ridiculousness of the impossible world called the Middle East often maintains our sanity, allowing us a moment of comic relief to sit back and chuckle at our preposterous circumstances.
We invite you to watch this brief sketch written by Tolik Piflaks, a local Messianic Jewish writer, and produced by Maoz Media, who help us see the funny side of American political intervention in Israel.
About the satirical short, Piflaks had this to say:
“In the recent war between Israel and Hamas, a deep sense of injustice resonated in many Israelis. John Kerry treating Hamas as a legitimate entity and adopting it’s demands, while dismissing Israel’s, took many Israelis by surprise.”
“More than ever before, I see David being presented as Goliath and vise versa. As believers, we find ourselves having to not only be on David’s side, but to help people identify who the real David is. The sketch we produced is an attempt to do so.”
Watching it reminded me of King David’s words in Psalm 2:
“Why do the nations plan rebellion? Why do people make their useless plots?
From his throne in heaven the Lord laughs and mocks at their feeble plans.”
