Several dozens Israeli protesters made it to the Western Wall just below the Temple Mount and danced in a circle as they sang nationalist songs from the Scriptures. “We will worship the Lord on the holy mountain,” they sang. The police described the rally as a provocation, but demonstrators denied it. “Hamas is up there [on the mount] inciting to kills Jews and Christians, and we’re the ones accused of a provocation!” said Avraham Voldinger, an Orthodox Jew who immigrated to Israel from Denver.
