More civil disobedience from Gaza withdrawal opponents

Tuesday, April 12, 2005 |

Demonstrators locked and chained 167 schools in the Tel Aviv area, a new tactic in a civil disobedience campaign aimed at thwarting Israel's pullout from the Gaza Strip this summer. The protesters left leaflets that said, "Jews Don't Expel Jews," a reference to the plan to evacuate more than 8,000 Gaza settlers. Protesters hope to disrupt life to such an extent that the police and army will be spread too thin to implement the Gaza pullout.
