Gaza settlers to become ‘refugees’

Wednesday, April 13, 2005 |

Many of the 8,000 Gaza settlers slated for evacuation this summer could find themselves in trailers for up to 18 months because the Israeli government has no place to put them. Since many of the settlers are religious Jews with big families, small trailer homes could be extremely uncomfortable. Gaza settler Anita Tucker says it's a disgrace. “I think it's quiet insulting that they are thinking of doing such a terrible thing,” she said. The settlers say the Israeli government is turning them into refugees in the Jewish homeland.
