Prime Minister Ariel Sharon says Israel will not launch an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. "Israel is not leading the struggle,” Sharon told CNN during a visit to the US. “We exchange intelligence, we exchange views, we discuss issues, but it's not that we are planning any military attack on Iran." In a separate interview with Fox News, Sharon said: "Of course we take all precautions and all the steps to defend ourselves. But it's not that Israel should give the answer to the international problem." Sharon wants the US to do the dirty work, but if diplomacy fails, and the US doesn't want to go in, and Iran is about to reach the point of no return, an Israeli attack on Iran cannot be ruled out. The air force has confirmed that it is training for such a scenario. It has experience--it destroyed the Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981.
