Reward for terror

Thursday, April 14, 2005 |

Israel has abandoned its plan to demolish the 21 Gaza settlements and intends to hand them over to the Palestinian Authority. "My position [is] to remove synagogues and cemeteries to Israel, but to leave the buildings there intact," Prime Minister Sharon told CNN. "I will make every effort to leave these buildings intact.” Israel wants tens of millions of dollars in compensation for the property, but no one is buying. "There should be no reward for any of the assets because they were established illegally," said Palestinian Foreign Minister Nasser Al Kidwa. The settlers say Sharon is sending a clear message--that terrorism pays.
