Abbas slams Israel

Wednesday, April 20, 2005 |

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas convened Israeli journalists for a news conference at his Ramallah headquarters and urged Israel to coordinate the Gaza pullout with the Palestinian Authority. He also lashed out at Israel. "Day and night the Israeli government and media are inciting against me," Abbas said. He is especially angry that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told President Bush last week that the Palestinian leader is not taking any serious action against terrorists. Abbas said Israel is undermining his ability to consolidate power.
