Under the theme, “Every Person Has a Name,” the names of Holocaust victims were read one by one at ceremonies in the Knesset (parliament), army bases and schools. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said the state of Israel is the answer to the Holocaust. “The Jewish people have learned the lesson of the Holocaust,” Sharon said. “Jews will never again be homeless and defenseless…Never again.”
