Purim is this coming Thursday / Friday in Israel and it’s a festive time, a celebration of redemption.
We at the Israel Today office are busy preparing to help needy Israeli children celebrate Purim. Purim is a time to celebrate the Jewish people's redemption from the hands of Haman, an Amalekite who were arch-enemies of the Israelites.
The Book of Esther, recited on this holiday by Jews throughout the world, tells the story of how the Jewish woman Esther saved the Jews of Persia.
Despite the freedom that Israel experiences living as free men in their own ancestral land once again, there is a high number of children that live below the bread-line.
There are also children that find themselves hospitalized at this time of the year without the opportunity to celebrate in the most festive children's holiday of the year.
Israel Today will be distributing Purim packages to children in 3 of Jerusalem's largest hospitals this festival. But we couldn't do it without your help. Now is the last chance to "come to the aid of the party" and give towards this effort! Your donation of $55 will buy 2 Purim packages for these children!
