Will Israel endure a "Shalit 2" deal?

What will be the final price that Israel pays for the bodies of the fallen soldiers Goldin and Shaul as well as 2 civilians being held in Gaza?

There are rumors in semi-official circles that Hamas has placed their opening bid regarding the price for the release of the bodies of IDF Officer Hadar Goldin and soldier Oron Shaul as well as the two civilians Avra Mangisto and Hisham al-Sayed.

The price is expected to be high, very high, because Hamas have shown that they are not moved by feelings and have simply shown that they only care about their own being held in Israeli jails!

In the aftermath of the kidnapping and murder of "the three boys" close to Hevron - Gil-Ad Shaer, Naftali Frenkel and Eyal Yifrah - in June 2014, "Operation Brother's Keeper" rounded up over 50 Hamas terrorists that had been previously released to Yehuda and Shomron to secure the release of Gilad Shalit in 2011.

According to the unofficial reports, Hamas have demanded the release of these Hamas terrorists just to enter into negotiations.

It can be guaranteed that Hamas will demand the release of most of the approx. 1500 Hamas members currently held in Israeli jails.

In the cases of Shaul and Goldin it is almost certain that negotiations will be for their bodies only and that Israeli leaders should limit exchanging only the Hamas members arrested during Operation Protective Edge and the bodies of Hamas combatants killed that Israel is holding.

It remains to be seen how much the pressure being placed on the Government by the Shaul, Goldin and Mangisto families will affect the negotiations and the ultimate price Israel will be prepared to pay.
