Bush does not comment on Palestinian terror

As important as what President Bush said was what he did not say. He did not mention Palestinian terror, and Abbas’ failure to keep his roadmap commitment to disarm terrorist groups. But Israeli officials played that down. "When they [the Americans] want to strengthen Abu Mazen [Abbas] a little, they emphasize the roadmap, the need to return to negotiations, [and] settlements," Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told Army Radio. "When they want to strengthen our side [and] Sharon--they talk about the need to silence terror completely. Let's see things in the proper perspective."
