A Palestinian was shot and killed today by an Israeli force in Hebron after he tried to attack troops with a knife. "The force called on him to stop several times and fired warning shots in the air,” said an army spokeswoman. “He continued moving towards the force and said he was going to kill the soldiers. When he arrived close to them and it became life threatening, a soldier opened fire and killed him.” The volatile town in Hebron is divided between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Israel controls the sacred Tomb of the Patriarchs and two Jewish neighborhoods that are home to about 500 settlers.
