Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu now opposes the planned pullout from Gaza, saying it's a reward for terror that will strengthen the Islamic militant group Hamas. "The Palestinians have bought Hamas's argument that it and only it has made us run and as a result...Hamas is growing stronger," Netanyahu said. Netanyahu is setting himself up for a showdown with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for the leadership of the hawkish Likud party after the pullout. Sharon has infuriated the Likud with his plan to dismantle 21 Gaza settlements, and the party could take revenge by replacing Sharon with Netanyahu.
