While most 18 year-olds, the world over, are enrolling in universities and colleges or getting jobs, their peers in Israel are enrolling in the Israel Defense Forces. They patrol our borders, man checkpoints, serve as medics, gather intelligence and participate in a variety of combat roles.
Even during “quiet” times in Israel, there is always be a risk of danger. The recent "intifada of the knives" has especially targeted our young operational soldiers as well as unarmed civilians.
Despite the dangers they experience every day, Israeli soldiers continue to fulfill their duties to the maximum.
