Israeli Army Warns Hamas and Allies Against Retaliation

Sunday, November 12, 2017 |  Israel Today Staff

About two weeks ago, the IDF collapsed a terror tunnel running from Gaza into southern Israel. Fifteen Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists were killed in the operation. Both groups vowed to retaliate against the Jewish state.

On Saturday, the IDF released an Arabic-language video warning that that would be a very bad idea.

Speaking in Arabic, IDF Maj.-Gen. Yoav Mordechai stated: "Israel blew up a terror tunnel inside Israeli territory after learning about the efforts of the Islamic Jihad. You are playing with fire at the expense of the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip. Any attacks by the Islamic Jihad will elicit a strong response, not only against them, but also against Hamas. We warn the leadership of the Islamic Jihad in Damascus to be careful and to keep the situation under control."
