Senior official: ‘Government not ready for Gaza pullout’

Despite Sharon’s tough stand, National Security Adviser Giora Eiland says the government is not ready for the Gaza withdrawal. “The impression of disorder that has been created is weakening the government and strengthening the plan’s opponents,” Eiland said in a letter. “With less than three months to go, there is a foggy situation with everything connected to the state of preparations for the disengagement plan.” Eiland said the biggest problem is housing for the more than 8,000 settlers who will be kicked out of their homes.
