Government praises court decision

Israeli officials welcomed the Supreme Court ruling, saying the settlers should realize that the fight is over. "I hope this ruling makes it absolutely clear to the individual settler that the plan is going ahead," Justice Minister Tzippe Livni told Army Radio. Privately, officials say the drop in support is “problematic” for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, but that he is determined to carry out the decisions of the Knesset (parliament) and the Cabinet.
