Prefabricated houses are being placed on the sand dunes near Gaza, for many of the 8,000 Jewish settlers slated for evacuation. The houses are free of charge, but they're a far cry from the lush, beachfront homes the settlers are leaving. Yaniv, the secretary of the nearby Gaza settlement of Elei Sinai, says the settlers won't move to a refugee camp. “No one will live there,” he told Israel Television. “The government is building a ghost town.” He said the housing is supposed to be temporary, but if the settlers move in, it will quickly become permanent.
