Israeli forces arrested 52 Islamic Jihad terrorists in the biggest sweep in Judea and Samaria since the cease-fire began four months ago. The army said it was forced to change its policy after the group’s blatant attacks, and because the Palestinian Authority is doing nothing to enforce the truce. "Anyone we know who is affiliated with this organization is a legitimate target," said Lieutenant-Col. Erez Winner, a senior Israeli commander in Judea and Samaria. So the trend is one of escalation and the cease-fire is in danger of collapse. Islamic Jihad will no doubt use the arrests as an excuse for more attacks.
