A different kind of road protest

In the latest protest against the pullout, thousands of cars pulled over to the side of Israel's main roads during evening rush hour. They waved banners saying, “Stop! We must think again [about the withdrawal].” Past protests in which demonstrators blocked the roads and crippled traffic antagonized drivers, and critics said it harmed the anti-pullout cause. So this time organizers chose a more passive protest to get the attention of the nation, and there were no major traffic disruptions.
