Aerial Views Of Our Readers Olive Trees In The Negev Desert

Tuesday, January 08, 2019 |  Ariel Rudolph

Your 4,000 olive trees are spread over 3 groves and are thriving. The olive trees of the first planting in March 2018 have already grown considerably and are much larger than those planted in October 2018.

Now that all our olive trees have been planted and the infrastructure has been installed, we have started plotting the position of each tree and in the near future, every olive tree owner will be informed of the exact location of his olive tree. Thus, everyone could "visit" his own olive tree on his next visit to Israel. In about three years we invite you to participate in the first olive harvest in the fall and to press olive oil from the harvest.

Incidentally, we intend to enlarge our vineyard! it is the only vineyard thriving in the sandy desert dunes in the country. With the sale of our red wine and the Canaan olive oil, we continue greening the desert and in so doing we financially support farmers in the South. We thank all those who have supported our projects in the desert and thus share in God's promise: "The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus" (Isaiah 35:1)

Very few people believe in and invest in the desert. This explains why only 5 percent of the Israeli population lives there while making up 60 percent of the country's territory. The majority of Israelis live in the center of the state. It is not easy investing in the desert with challenges, finances and time. But we do it out of love, faith and being a part of the Zionist dream.
